This past Thursday, Catie Nielson, 6th-year graduate student in the CORE Lab, visited a biology class at Queensborough Community College (QCC) to collect data about biology students. More specifically, Catie, in collaboration with Regina Sullivan, an Associate Professor of Biology at QCC, seeks to understand the agreement with and usage of cognitive construals in community college students, a population that is often overlooked in mainstream biology education research. Students completed a packet of questions, and then got a fun lesson from Catie about cognitive construals!
